Randy Hensley
Executive Director
Randy has served as the Executive Director of the Coalition For Kids since its founding in 1998. Building on more than 15 years of business management experience, Randy has worked diligently to grow the Coalition For Kids from one site serving 25 children to multiple sites across Johnson City serving more than 300 low-income, at-risk children each day. Randy and his lovely wife, Melanie, have six beautiful children.

Amanda Beattie
Director of Programming
Amanda first encountered the Coalition in December 2002 while volunteering at a Christmas party for the children. Three months later she was hired as a part-time tutor. Then, after a year of tutoring, she moved into the full-time position of Volunteer Coordinator and KIA (Kids in Action) Director. Amanda graduated from East Tennessee State University in 2005 with a bachelor's degree in Human Development and Learning and minor in Special Education. She and her husband, Ray, are very active in their church and enjoy spending time as a family with their son.

Riki Forney
Director of Finance & Administration
Riki has been a Coalition staff member since 2001. As a graduate of East Tennessee State University he brings education to match his years of experience with the organization and in working with children. Riki and his wonderful wife, Brett, are also very active in their church.

Lisa Marie Pierson, MBA
Director of Development
Lisa has been with the Coalition For Kids since August of 2005. She holds a Master's of Business Administration from Milligan College, and a Bachelor of Science in Public Health Education from East Tennessee State University. Originally hired as a Site Tutor, Lisa served as the evening Kids In Action Program Coordinator and Grant Writing/Special Projects Coordinator prior to becoming the Director of Development in 2008. Lisa and her teenage son are active in several ministries through their church.

Travis Grant
Volunteer Coordinator
Travis volunteered at The Coalition during middle and high school while growing up here in Johnson City. He graduated from The University of Tennessee with a bachelors degree in Hotel, Restaurant, and Tourism Management and a minor in Business Administration. Travis and his wife SaraBeth are very active in their church and desire to work in missions both locally and abroad.

Ramona Tevis
Director of Donor Relations
Ramona joined the Coalition For Kids family in May 2011, but C4K touched her heart several years prior while volunteering during a Pepsi Fourth of July Fireworks fundraiser event and, most recently, while participating in Shopping 4 Others. She received her Bachelor's of Social Work from Western Illinois University in 1989. Prior to joining Coalition, Ramona worked in the fields of early childhood intervention and child welfare. Ramona, her husband Tony and their three children have lived in Johnson City for nine years and enjoy participating in school activities, a variety of sports as well as active members of their church.

Bethany Patton
Assistant Program Director
Bethany began with the Coalition in 2005 as a part-time Site Tutor in the Amistades program. She has held several positions within the Coalition For Kids, including serving as the Site Coordinator for our Amistades, Mountain View, and Kids In Action sites before moving into her current position as Assistant Program Director. Bethany enjoys singing and working with the youth group at her church and spending time with her family.

Linda Wallace
Administrative Assistant
Linda joined the Coalition leadership team in July 2009. She graduated from East Tennessee State University in 1985 with a B.S. in Health Education and an A.S. in Health Science. Prior to joining the staff at the Coalition For Kids, Linda worked for 3 years with The Fellowship of Christian Athletes. Linda and her husband, Greg, enjoy spending time out on the lake with their teenage son.

Phyllis Dycus Receptionist
Phyllis was the first employee hired when the Coalition For Kids began in 1998. She holds a Bachelor's degree in Physical Education and Health from Milligan College. Before coming to the Coalition, Phyllis taught physical education and worked as a church secretary. Phyllis and her husband, Dallas, cherish time spent with family-especially their grandchildren!

Asia Fleming
South Side School & Kids In Action — Asia has been with the Coalition For Kids since 2007. In her present position as Head Academic Coach at our KIA site, Asia has the opportunity to minister directly children who desperately need to connect with strong, committed adult role-models. Asia is pursuing a degree in Early Childhood Education. She enjoys crafting and spending time with friends and family.

Hannah Garst
Amistades Hispanic program at Cherokee UMC — Hannah has been with the Coalition For Kids since the fall of 2007. She worked as a Site Tutor and then Site Coordinator for our Fairmont Site prior to transitioning into her current position as the Head Academic Coach for our Amistades Hispanic program. Hannah holds a Bachelor's degree from Virginia Intermont College. Hannah and her husband, Jeff, are very involved in their church and community.

Trena Hall
Keystone — Trena began working at the Coalition For Kids in December 2003 as a Site Tutor. Prior to becoming the Coordinator for the Keystone Community site in 2008, Trena had held positions as the Indian Trail Site Coordinator and evening KIA (Kids In Action) Coordinator. She is currently enrolled at Northeast State working toward a degree in Human Development and Learning. Trena has a teenage son, a grown son and daughter-in-law and a precious little granddaughter.

Holly McAmis
North Side Elementary — Holly began as a tutor in 2007 and has served as Site Coordinator at South Side, Summer Staff, Coordinator for KIA Munsey and currently is the Site Coordinator at North Side. Holly graduated December 2012 with a double major in K-12 Physical Education and Parks & Recreation Management. She loves outdoor activities and enjoys spending time with her family and her fiance, Brian Denton.

Brenda Hensley
Mountain View Elementary School — Brenda came on board with The Coalition August of 2012. With a strong background in education as an Instruction Assistant for Washington County Schools, she has a wealth of knowledge to bring to us. She is currently enrolled in the behavioral management program at Tusculum College. She and her husband Jason spend a lot of time playing sports with their three boys.

Sarah Oaks
Indian Trail Intermediate School — Sarah started with the Coalition For Kids as a Site Tutor in September 2008. She has served as Site Coordinator at both South Side and North Side Schools and is currently serving as Site Coordinator at our Indian Trail Site. Sarah holds Bachelor's degree in Education from East Tennessee State University. Sarah and her husband, Ryan, love to spend time with their two children.

Dan Ashley
Fairmont Elementary — I have been blessed to work for C4K since 2009. I began as a Tutor at Keystone and am now the Site Coordinator for Fairmont. Working at Coalition has changed my life in so many ways. Because of my love of children which would not have been discovered at this point in my life had I not come to work at Coalition, I changed my major at ETSU and will graduate soon with a Human Service major. I love my job!

Jordan Spain
Carver — Looking for a job as I was finishing my degree at ETSU, my friend and Youth Leader pointed me towards Coalition For Kids. I had volunteered with childrens groups as well as America Reads and loved the idea of working with children. I was ecstatic when I was offered a position at Coalition! I am currently serving as the Site Coordinator for Carver and love it! This is not a job...it is so much more. These kids and my co-workers are my family!

Jackie Tipton
Food Service Coordinator
Jackie discovered the Coalition For Kids in 2001 while looking for quality, affordable after school care for her youngest daughter. Her daughter was able to attend the Coalition from first grade all the way through the seventh grade. In 2006, Jackie came onboard as a Site Tutor. Then, in 2007 the opportunity to become the Food Service Coordinator became available. Jackie has a combined total of thirty years of food service experience in the restaurant business, school food service and catering. Jackie enjoys spending time with her four children, wonderful daughter-in-law and four precious grandchildren.
